Call for
Book Reviews
Michael W. Popejoy,
Ph.D.
Public
Administration and Management: An .Interactive Journal (PAMIJ) a publication of
the Southern Public Administration Education Foundation, Inc. (SPAEF) is
seeking reviews of books of all types that would be of interest to both
academicians and practitioners in public administration, management,
government, politics, social sciences, health administration, economics and
other closely related disciplines. These would include history, autobiography,
biography, and science and technology policy. Even books of good quality
fiction whose theme embraces any of the subjects of interest to the public
sector would be welcome.
Book
reviews can be a brief synopsis of 150-300 words describing the book’s topical
coverage and who may be interested. Longer essays globally discussing a book’s
particular thesis and its impact on the field are welcome with a word length up
to 1500 words. And, of course, multiple book review essays on a common them of
current or historical interests with a word length up to 3000 words are sought.
Please
submit your book review proposal directly to me by email and I will endeavor to
acquire a review copy of the book through the publisher for you or if you
already have the book, you may submit your review directly to me by email.
Also, I will be soliciting books for review from publishers and as they arrive,
I will post the titles on the journal’s website. If a particular book interests
you, contact me by email, and I will arrange to have it shipped to you for
review.
In
addition, I will be writing a “Book Briefs” section for each edition of the
journal in which I will work to touch on books that are coming out in the near
future. It is my hope to get on the early release press notices of key
publishers so I can get information on new releases that may interest our
readers.
Finally,
as a guide to book reviewers, please write your reviews in the template offered
on the journal’s website which is www.pamij.com
so that we can get it posted to the electronic journal as efficiently as
possible.
